I think you might be just a bit too technical with your definition of what a Jew is. The people of Judah were known as Jews; it wasn't about religious definitions or whose teachings one followed. Pilate hung a sign over Jesus at his crucifixion: "King of the Jews."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2472139466585018053.post-17734893062631856782018-03-04T03:08:50.492-05:002018-03-04T03:08:50.492-05:00"but the Greeks did not imagine that a Jewish..."but the Greeks did not imagine that a Jewish man could physically rise from the dead by his own power"<br />A "Jewish man" Christ? In Jesus time the Jews had not yet existed, so how could Jesus have been a "Jewish man"?<br />Judaism proper is rooted in the Talmud. The Pharesees met in Jamnia in 72 AC and decided to put in writing the Oral Teachings of the Elders, which Jesus condemned.<br />The religious ideology of Judaism is the Talmud. Jews follow the Talmud, not the written Torah (Old Testament).<br />Jesus was an Israelite from the House of Judah and could not possibly have been something that came into being many years later, after he was put to death by the Sanhedrin.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2472139466585018053.post-33205849184807441402012-04-09T23:46:30.842-04:002012-04-09T23:46:30.842-04:00"Crucified" is found in the Paul Shorey&..."Crucified" is found in the Paul Shorey's translation.
